It’s been a rough ride so far. I have a lot of training in assessment, and thought that I would just be learning to transfer that into an online environment. I have learned so much about technology and organizing online information in the last two weeks. For example, how do I remember all the different usernames and passwords? How do I navigate wikis, D2L, and blogs? What are the limitations of my technology at home? How do I work around that to meet expectations?
Aside from that, I’m excited to have met the people in the group. They are really expanding my ideas of what, how and why to use assessment. I feel like I’m part of a community. While the learning curve has been steep, there has been scaffolding, personal support and modeling every step of the way. Without that, I don’t think I would have continued. I’ll be sure to include these elements in my work.
